Real Market
Markets have been there since humans started living in communities. Markets are universal, wherever you go around the world you have markets were people buy and sell. Before the age of online shopping and big corporate mega-stores, markets were not just places were people traded they were places of social interaction. People go to markets to meet people and be around people of course sell and buy from them too. Even though the convenience of online shopping is challenging the real markets, local producers and individuals still trade at small markets like Sunday Markets and Farmers Markets.
This is the reason why I like these markets, even if I don't have anything that I want to buy, I go to this markets to take pictures of people doing their business as generations have done before them. Every transaction is a social encounter, you don't just click and buy you will be interacting with the seller and make some kind of connection. You might even decide not to buy if you don't like the attitude of the seller or buy something you don't want because you just happen to like the person.
I might not be able to capture all these emotions and socialization fully in pictures but at least I try to capture some sense of it whenever I happen to be in the midst of a genuine market.
